New York Women in Communications Awards Ginny Pulos “Mentor of the Year”

Ginny Pulos, Founder & President of Ginny Pulos Communications, Inc., and Adjunct Professor at New York University (NYU), has been honored by New York Women in Communications (NYWICI) with its first ever “Mentor of the Year Award.” Judith Harrison, NYWICI Foundation President and Senior Vice President of Weber Shandwick, presented the Award at the NYWICI annual meeting, held May 20 at CITI Headquarters.

In nominating Ms. Pulos, her mentee, Robin Beck, a recent Columbia University graduate, credited her with “the reason I have the job I do today.” In citing Ms. Pulos, Ms. Beck, who holds a Masters in Communications degree, said that:
“My mentor, Ginny Pulos, made my problems her problems and my blessings her blessings. It’s like I found a storytelling instructor, a finishing coach and a confidante all at once. . . . She taught me to replace the words ‘I think, I hope, I feel’ with ‘I know, I believe, I am’ when communicating my ideas. I am lucky to call her my mentor and friend.”

In accepting the Mentor of the Year Award, Ms. Pulos said, “I love giving women tools they need to succeed at any age or stage. The best thing we can do is to succeed by helping others find their own success. Robin Beck is a remarkable young woman. I am proud to have helped her hone her communications skills and obtain her first job!”
